Lovechock foil crumbling down in compostbin !
donderdag 13 oktober 2011 11:53

Dear Chocklovers,

We are quite happy to tell that the compostprocess of our bio-degradable foil, tested by our 'cradle to cradle' professor Jop Timmers is going really well !! Read more in his blog.

After 70 days only very small pieces are left. 70 days or 10 weeks is also the time given for industrial composting (van Gansewinkel) Home composting takes longer, beacuse industrial composting is speeded up. It means our foil would break down even quicker during industrial composting !!!

Well we can be so proud  by the results as we are aiming for a more and more green product. There is always more to improve off course, so next step could be to check with van Gansewinkel how fast actually our foil breaks down.

How quick does our bio-degradable foil compost ?

Just a while ago we started with our new eco-friendly packaging. We want to contribute to a cleaner world and so the plastic bands dissapeared and also the aluminium. Now we have a compostable foil made from sustainable grown forests. But to really know this is true we do a test with our Cradle to Cradle professor; Job Timmers. We want to know how long it actually takes... Read his blog(dutch) about his adventure into composting our foil ! With Looooooooove from Lovechock !

New eco-friendly packaging !!

Dear Chocks and Earth-lovers,

We are proud and happy to present our new packaging that is eco-friendly as much as we could make it ! Already we get great response from our Facebook-friends ! From now on you can put the foil, that is made from sustainable wood (cellulose)in your green bin (GFT-afval) and wait till it dissolves in your compost. Our wrapper was already from sustainable forests (PEFC) but now also printed with organic ink. Also the stickers are printed with organic ink and even the glue that is used for the sticker is organic. Some of u might miss the elastic rubber bands, that could be reclycled, but they were not so eco-friendly, so and we want to improve our eco-friendliness, thus we decided to change.
We keep on improving things, because we feel also inspired by it. Small changes in the world, make big changes in the end.

We still have some free samples available , so hurry to facebook and click on the link, we appreciate your feedback!

  Thanks, laura

Fallin' in Lovechock party
woensdag 11 mei 2011 13:59

Our Fallin' in Lovechock party was great ! For us it was saying goodbye to our small kitchen in the Baanbrugsteeg, a cosy place where we made and packed our chocolate the last year. With blood, sweat and tears we have faced all kinds of challenges in the kitchen. Too warm or too cold always one of the two, and many more crazy challenges i will not mention here, hihi. At least we learned how to make chocolate here, which is most important......

The party: A mixture of all kinds of chocks and chicks with all kinds of music ......mmm a new Lovechock flavour ?? Well we had raw afrodisiac tea, raw chocolate pie, guacemole with nachochips, vegetarian sushi's and mojito cocktails, need to say more ?
Yes......we also had some groovin' mantra live music and an over-the-top-blasting Mexican salsaband filling the whole room with warm, sexy upbeat tunes, deep into the night.  Raw food there, but a lot of us tried the exotic cocktails of Lara our latin vibed colleague that also has an organic catering LepeltjeLief. Next day i knew again; alcohol is really not my cup of tea; back to fresh green juice with lots of fresh grass and nettles. Comin' party is going to be cycling and picknicking with raw vegan sushi's (my idea) Still it was a great party to remember; the best moments of a starting company; gathering the crowds in the name of.......... Looooooove(chock)
